Is Geraldo Rivera blaming the victim by fingering hoodie in Trayvon Martin's death?

Geraldo Rivera has stirred controversy regarding comments that he blamed Trayvon Martin's death on George Zimmerman and the hoodie Martin wore. The remarks have many accusing Rivera of "blaming the victim" and not putting full blame on Zimmerman for his actions. It is synonymous to cases where a rape victim is blamed due to her appearance, behavior, or dress.

On March 23, 2012, Fox News correspondent, Geraldo Rivera spoke about the Trayvon Martin case and put blame for the 17-year-old’s shooting death on both the hoodie he wore and George Zimmerman. The remarks have caused concern with some that Rivera is blaming Trayvon Martin for his death.
