purchasing a gun and his wife Shellie, who faithfully stayed by his side throughout his trial, then plead guilty to lying about their finances, filed for divorce. Here is the latest update regarding George Zimmerman news.

George Zimmerman Latest News: Speeding
On July 28, 2013, George Zimmerman was pulled over in Forney, Texas and was given a warning instead of a ticket. TMZ obtained the dash cam video that went viral. Zimmerman had a gun in the glove compartment of his vehicle, which caused some Travyon Martin supporters to become greatly upset. Not only did Zimmerman have his gun, but after his acquittal, he was legally entitled to have the same gun he shot and killed Trayvon Martin returned to him.
This wasn’t Zimmerman’s only stop with law enforcement for speeding. He was stopped just a little over a month later, closer to his hometown in Lake Mary, Florida on Sept. 3, 2013.

On Sept. 3, 2013, George Zimmerman was pulled over at approximately 10:35 a.m., for speeding in Lake Mary, Florida. According to the police report, Zimmerman was doing 60, in a 45 mph zone. Unlike his July 28, 2013, stop for speeding where he was let go with a warning; Zimmerman was given a ticket for $256.
Zimmerman was caught on radar speeding while driving a gray Honda Ridgeline on Rinehart Road in Lake Mary.
This time, Zimmerman will pay a ticket and get points on his license unless he attends a driving class, if he is eligible. Similar to the July 28, 2013, speeding event, this one was caught on video as well.

George Zimmerman all Smiles at Kel-Tec Gun Factory
On Aug. 27, 2013, TMZ broke the story that George Zimmerman had visited the Kel-Tec gun factory located in Cocoa, Florida. The story is disturbing for several reasons, but first, it is that Zimmerman used a gun manufactured by Kel-Tec to shoot and kill Trayvon Martin through the heart. According to the TMZ report, Zimmerman wanted to know what the legal requirements were for purchasing a shotgun. It's unclear whether he purchased a gun, but the photo obtained by TMZ, shows Zimmerman all smiles while shaking hands with the owner's son.
A representative for Mark O'Mara released a statement saying that they never would have advised Zimmerman to take a picture at a gun factory. With reports surfacing that Zimmerman plans to sue the state of Florida to recover some of his legal costs, he might want to check with his attorney before posing at gun companies.
Here is the statement released by Mark O'Mara's spokesperson Shawn Vincent to Reuters, "We understand how George visiting the factory that produces the gun used to shoot Trayvon Martin is seen as inappropriate."
Shawn Vincent released another statement to Yahoo News. It reads, "We certainly would not have advised him to go to the factory that made the gun that he used to shoot Trayvon Martin through the heart. That was not part of our public relations plan.”

Shellie Zimmerman ABC Interview talks Marriage, Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin; Then Files for Divorce
On Sept. 5, 2013, news outlets reported that Shellie Zimmerman, the 26-year-old wife of recently acquitted George Zimmerman had filed for a divorce. The news isn't very surprising to anyone who watched her interview with ABC's Good Morning America, in which she described her marriage as troubled. One of the most interesting statements made during her interview with ABC's Christ O'Connor, is that she and Zimmerman fought the night before her husband fatally shot and killed an unarmed teenager and she was not at home. Shellie Zimmerman had no idea what was going through her soon-to-be ex-husband's mind as she wasn't there. She does; however, believe his version of events and doesn't think has the capabilities of hunting someone down to racially profile then kill them.
Shellie Zimmerman pleaded guilty to perjury charges due to statements where she failed to inform the court of the exact amount of donations received through PayPal for George's defense. She will serve 100 hours of community service and perform one year of probation.
She had a message for Trayvon Martin's parents. She stated, "If I could speak to them I would say that I'm so deeply sorry for their loss…I can't even begin to understand the grief that a parent experiences when they lose a child."
